A Fortified Tower

” The name of the Lord is a fortified tower;
the righteous run to it and are safe.”

NIV Proverbs 18:10; KJV Proverbs 18:10

Read Proverbs 18

As a fairly new believer I am just amazed about the fact that our God is always there for us. Living without God and leaning on your own strength all the time is very hard. Going to the Source of all creation and love is essential to have a happy and purposeful life. All I want to say is just that I am so grateful that God has touched my heart and revealed His love and His grace to me. I am grateful for loving Christian people who have been (and still are) there for me and who have shown me with their actions Jesus’ love and compassion. I feel safe knowing that my God is there for me every second of my life. I run to Him every day, I thank Him, I praise His name. I am covered by His unfailing love.

My Lord is always before me

“I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”

NIV Psalm 16:8; KJV Psalm 16:8

Read Psalm 16

We are the beginning of a New Year yet again. This is the time when resolutions and goals are made and everyone is filled with hope that this year will be good, fruitful and perhaps better than the previous one. Surely this year will bring good things our way, but there will be challenges, disappointments and trials of all sorts. That is why we have to always set the Lord before us. He is our strength, our rock, our solid ground. With Him at our right hand, we’ll make it through what ever may come our way!

Walk humbly with your God

“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
    And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
    and to walk humbly with your God.”

NIV Micah 6:8; KJV Micah 6:8

Deep down in their heart and soul each and every human being knows what is good, yet many choose the way of the evil. In this day and age where everything seems to be revolving around “I” and “me” let’s humble ourselves, let’s examine our hearts, let’s invite compassion and mercy in. All we are, we owe it to The Lord Most High, our very existence depends on Him, not on us, ON HIM.

I am doing a new thing!

“18 Forget the former things;
    do not dwell on the past.
  19 See, I am doing a new thing!
    Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
   I am making a way in the wilderness
    and streams in the wasteland.”

NIV Isaiah 43:18-19; KJV Isaiah 43:18-19

Read Isaiah 43

In above verses we are told not to dwell on the past; a perfect advice for the beginning of a New Year! We might have gone through trials, we might have done or said things that we are not proud of, we might have regrets and “what if” thoughts, but time can’t be turned back. So, leave the past behind and move on. This is a perfect time to start a new! Do a new thing! Lord says He is making a way in the wilderness and he is making streams in the wasteland. Turn a new leaf in the book of your life! Love yourself. Love people. Be a friend. Be supportive. Be a listener. Be a giver. Practice kindness and compassion. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s impossible. You might just be the person who will start the change in the world and the domino effect. Do a new thing! ♥

A New Year’s Prayer

Lord God, Father of all creation my prayer is that the New Year 2014 brings to this world more peace and less war, more food and less hunger, more laughter and less tears, more love and less hate, more understanding and less judgement, more care and less neglect. I pray that we love one another as you love us, I pray that we are always aware of your presence and that in all we think, say and do we are guided by Your unfailing Love. In Jesus Name. Amen.

In His Name the nations will put their hope

17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
18 “Here is my servant whom I have chosen,
    the one I love, in whom I delight;
I will put my Spirit on him,
    and he will proclaim justice to the nations.
19 He will not quarrel or cry out;
    no one will hear his voice in the streets.
20 A bruised reed he will not break,
    and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out,
till he has brought justice through to victory.
21     In his name the nations will put their hope.”

NIV Matthew 12:17-21; KJV Matthew 12:17-21

700 years before Jesus’ birth it was foretold that He will be the Hope of the world, He will be the servant and the king, He will be the just one and the victorious one. Our future without Him does not exist, not in the way it was purposed to be. Our Hope is in Jesus and JESUS ONLY.

Pure and Faultless Religion

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

Sermons We See

(By Edgar A. Guest)

I’d rather see a sermon than hear one any day;

I’d rather one should walk with me than merely tell the way.

The eye’s a better pupil and more willing than the ear,

Fine counsel is confusing, but example’s always clear;

And the best of all the preachers are those who live their creeds,

For to see good put in action is what everybody needs.

.

I soon can learn to do it if you’ll let me see it done;

I can watch your hands in action, but your tongue too fast may run.

And the lecture you deliver may be very wise and true,

But I’d rather get my lessons by observing what you do;

For I might misunderstand you and the high advice you give,

But there’s no misunderstanding how you act and how you live.

.

When I see a deed of kindness, I am eager to be kind.

When a weaker brother stumbles and a strong one stays behind

Just to see if he can help him, then the wish grows strong in me

To become as big and thoughtful as I know that friend to be.

And all travelers can witness that the best of guides today

Is not the one who tells them, but the one who shows the way.

.

One good person teaches many, we believe what we behold;

One deed of kindness noticed is worth forty that are told.

Who stands with those of honor learns to hold their honor dear,

For right living speaks a language which to every one is clear.

Though an able speaker charms me with their eloquence, I say,

I’d rather see a sermon than to hear one, any day.

Love Fulfills the Law

“Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.”

KJV Romans 13:8; NIV Romans 13:8

LOVE. It’s all about Love my friends. We are commanded to love one another, to love our neighbor as ourselves. Open up your heart and let the Love come in. Let go of grudges, let go of anger, let go of bitterness. Forgive. Call a friend or a family member that you have not called in a long time. Show Love and kindness to a stranger. Pay it forward. Love will travel a full circle and come back to you. LOVE.
