“13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.”
Yes, we are called to be free, but we enslave and imprison our selves with a way of life we think it’s right, with the clothes we think we should wear, with the car we think we should drive, with the amount of success we think we need to be happy. And God forbid, we fail to achieve what we think is right, the whole world falls apart and we become desperate and broken. We are the inmates in our very own prisons. But, there is hope! We are called to be free and the only way to be truly free is to be free in Jesus, to love one another, to let go of our selfish wants and desires, to let Jesus direct our paths and to fully trust that His plans for us are much better than our own.
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
When we believe and start following Christ, there is a powerful transformation happening in our hearts and our minds. We are no longer ourselves, but we are newly created in Him. We are truly born again! This change is powerful, it is divine and it’s hard to put into words. There is a thirst to pursue God’s ways in all our actions, our words and our relationships. By ourselves we’re just a bud, in Him we develop into a beautiful, fragrant flower. It is all HIS GRACE! Those who truly believe will understand. For those who are not there yet, I can only say: Come to follow Jesus to experience life in a whole new light! Peace and Love.
