“13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.”
Yes, we are called to be free, but we enslave and imprison our selves with a way of life we think it’s right, with the clothes we think we should wear, with the car we think we should drive, with the amount of success we think we need to be happy. And God forbid, we fail to achieve what we think is right, the whole world falls apart and we become desperate and broken. We are the inmates in our very own prisons. But, there is hope! We are called to be free and the only way to be truly free is to be free in Jesus, to love one another, to let go of our selfish wants and desires, to let Jesus direct our paths and to fully trust that His plans for us are much better than our own.
Deep down in their heart and soul each and every human being knows what is good, yet many choose the way of the evil. In this day and age where everything seems to be revolving around “I” and “me” let’s humble ourselves, let’s examine our hearts, let’s invite compassion and mercy in. All we are, we owe it to The Lord Most High, our very existence depends on Him, not on us, ON HIM.
“6 I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer. 7 Show me the wonders of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes. 8 Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings 9 from the wicked who are out to destroy me, from my mortal enemies who surround me.”
Yes God, show us the wonders of your great Love. Make us worthy of it and bless us Lord so we can be a blessing to others. Let us always walk in Your paths God and practice love, compassion, kindness and humility every day of our lives. Let us be a reflection of You. Let us abide in Your great Love Lord, today and forever. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
“5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death — even death on a cross!”
If Jesus, who in His very nature being God, could humble himself to be a servant and to be obedient to death, then what are we to do?! Follow His example! Be humble. Obey God. We all know what that means, yet we choose to go the other way. The other way leads to destruction! God’s way leads to LIFE eternal!
